Went to purchase .270 130grain nosler ballistic tip ammo but it seems to be discontinued. Was having trouble getting it last year but now it seems to be gone for good

Federal website shows "temporarily unavailable"

Maybe there's a production shortage and Nosler is keeping what they have for their own sales.

Still available on Nosler website

I agree. Years ago, Nosler strictly made bullets that were sold OTC for reloaders. Then Nosler sold directly to ammo manufacturers such as Federal, Winchester, Remington, etc... Nosler expanded their footprint in the industry by making their own head stamped brass and loading Nosler brand ammunition.

Same exact 130 gr. ballistic tip bullet, very similar (possibly the same) powder, and better quality of brass vs. Federal Premium. In today's market, you can't be to picky. Buy what's online, or on the shelf .... perhaps 2-3 boxes so you have a future supply. Sight your rifle in and your good to go. If you save the fired brass, good possibility someone can reload your ammo fairly inexpensive.

Nosler has been more difficult to get. I’ve always used Nosler bullets in Weatherby ammo, but it’s not easy to find now.

Nosler is still having all kinds of problems with manufacturing. I wouldn't be surprised if they are trying to get someone to buy them out.
