He was who I was talking about. He ties straight to braid on everything.

To everything. It's the only knot I use

It's fine in a lot of applications, but really isn't the best knot for anything, save for maybe a double palomar on heavy braid (65#+). Generally speaking I use uni knots for everything (line connections, terminal connections and snelling) regardless of line type except for heavy braid.

I use it mostly out of habit. I do use a lot of heavy braid but admittedly, I also use a palomar with mono and flouro.

I use this a lot as well.

I am working on mastering and using this knot. I do like this knot.

I don't use much flouro, but I've used a trilene knot with no issue.

Most of the time for me:
If it has an eye - palomar knot
No eye - Trilene knot
Flipping/pitching - snell

This has inspired me to start using the San Diego Jam a bit.

Snell, palomar if it breaks off and trying to get a new hook on quick.

Good deal. I starting using a palomar because I had issues with other knots (mostly because I am too retarded to tie them correctly)

What's the advantage of a double palomar? Had to google it. Never had any issues with a regular palomar, is the extra bulk of the knot worth it?

I use palomar for most things because it's the quickest knot I know how to tie and is strong.

Exactly why I use it.

Stronger knot. I use it for pitching and flipping heavy heavy grass. I think a palomar is good enough for this though

I actually know that knot and have used it before (with a slight variation). It is very strong, I just don't like the 3 tag ends facing straight up.

Just came across this video and I tried it out. Seems strong and won't slip. Almost too damn easy and quick to tie. I might try it out this weekend. Anyone ever use this knot before? LINK

Stick doubled over line through eye, half hitch, throw hook through, yank tight. Takes 3 seconds. I've never tied any fishing knots that involve less.

I only use a clinch knot for bream hooks that I can't fit the line through doubled over for a palomar. Definitely tie a palomar quicker than a clinch.

Look at my post right above yours.

And I'm not saying palomar knots are difficult or time consuming at all, ftr
