Which choke to use duck hunting?

i hadn't went in years. Got a friend with some quackers comming to his swamp, what is the best choke to use " i will be shooting 12ga benelli supernova or mossberg 835 ultra mag". Full or modified?

Check make sure your full will take steel. That may answer your question.

good point there, will do that. Birds will be comming in over us at 30-40ft wehre we hunting

When shooting steelshot a modified choke is the equivalent of a full choke.

Dont do the duck thing too much here, i just dont have the access to hunt places with ducks. Trying to figure out the choke that would be best used and even shot to use

If they're decoying into small area then there's no reason to go any tighter than IC or MOD.

not decoying but its a small beaver dam pond that they are comming into, small area.

I'd shoot a MOD just to make sure they're dead before they hit the water.

Decoying at 30-40 ft go modified with some 3" #3 shot, can't go wrong

Has he been seeing woodies or will this be a mallard/grey duck affair? If he's seeing big ducks I wouldn't bother with the woodies and keep my full choke in

Never full anymore. Either mod or Imp cyl. I use the latter 90% of the time.

I use modified when I hunt in in the swamp for woodies.
