what a cluster if im asked to leave i will but its going to suck getting a ticket when i did my research and couldnt find an answer
you'll see a boat pull up, ask who you are and if you know whos property you're on, then ask you to leave.
you probably wont get a ticket unless you reply with the typical coonass fashion of "you cant claim water" or "gross mon chur"
actually, go ahead and reply with the second comment.

lots of places have no trespassing signs up now or crab lease, duck lease, or I think the other sign is houma natural gas company? or land exploration company? something like that

This is why the public should vote down all tax funded coastal restoration efforts and let their shite sink. I'm sure all the trout guys wouldn't mind catching their specs in Donaldsonville.

You do realize that Fourchon doesn't even give the tinest of fricks about the marsh, right? In fact, they spent a ton of money digging it up to make exploration easier. Their contributions are nothing more than a dog and pony show.

fourchon is part of Lafourche parish, not its own separate entity.... as long as they got a port, the parish will maintain the levees and my house is safe

The part I never understood about bow fishing is how do you know if you are shooting a proper sized red fish without measuring it first. I'm sure if you've done it 100 times you can guesstimate when seeing them in the water. But how do you know that you didn't accidentally take a 15" red, or two reds over 27". The few bow fisherman I have met and asked that question, the answers were usually along the lines of "I don't care I just shoot". That's the attitude I don't care for. Maybe you can shed some light on this for me.

The 2x I have been it really wasn't that hard to distinguish, I just didn't shoot at any that looked close to the limit. But we may have seen one that was a close call, all the others were well over 16" and not hard to determine to shoot.

its not hard to distinguish at all. I mean when you catch trout or redfish, you can pretty much look at them and be like meh, probably too small. same with bowfishing. you can look at a fish and say if its too small. most of our fish are 20 to 24". I think in the past 7 trips, we've only shot one over 27"
come make a trip and you'll understand.

I guess if it's borderline you just don't shoot it. I'm sure it would be a good time though.

What kind of boat do y'all bowfish out of? I am going to buy a jon boat in the near future to turn into a bowfishing rig.

ive got a 16 foot aluminum boat with some small racks, my buddy has a 20 foot GTR that works much better and is more comfortable, but my little 16 foot works just fine.
get 12 volt LED lights, no bulky generator needed

The only problem I am expecting is wiring the lights. Do you have everything routed to a switch / multiple switches?

no, I actually have a separate battery with alligator clamps.
my friends boat has his to the twist lock plug of his trolling motor that he plugs into, since he uses the big motor to move us around

And you just clip all the lights to the battery individually?

I've always been curious if a decent bow fishing rig would also double as a decent flounder gigging rig?
Posted on 8/27/15 at 1:44 pm to StrongBackWeakMind
no, I wired them all inline (I think that's what its called) and only have one negative and one positive clip.
whats your email, ill send pics when I get home
