Roxie, MS and LBL Tenn side. Anybody ever chase turkeys in the LBL quota hunt?

This is true but also relative. Opening weekend, sure there will be plenty of hunters but keep a couple of things in mind:

Black kettle is huge, spread out and a ton of smaller parcels. You can always find somewhere other people aren't.

Secondly "highly sought after" in Oklahoma terms is nothing if you're used to public land hunting in LA. Especially out west. The population density and relative obscurity of the land means there just arent that many people out there.

On top of that, if you're making a dedicated trip to Turkey hunt, plan it during the week and you'll likely have almost 0 competition.

I can confirm this. Hunted numerous WMA’s this year for game with the description “highly sought after.” Not once did I have an issue with overcrowding. Sure, there were people out and about, but not like I was used to in La.

Yes sir, quite often back in the late 80's and early 90's Tons of ground and lots of birds. Haven't hunted it in several years though.
