1000% pure luck

Stands were 300yds apart and the buck dropped in his tracks 15yds from next stand over. My dad couldn’t believe it either when we rode our 3 wheeler to pick him up. I kept saying he’s all the way by next stand.

and in china in the 90's the gun range was set up using a 50 caliper shooting at chickens on the hill side 600 yards away. 5 bucks a pop and fried chicken if you hit one

I shot a white cow bird at around 250 yards with a 22 single shot. Standing, not braced. I was a teenager. Me and my buddies just screwing around. We still joke about that shot today. It was total luck.
I stepped out the distance years later.

Correct. The longest target was 600 meters which is 656 yards. I think I hit it once during qualification, and like some else, I saved my ammo to pad my score. My 50 meter left got lots of holes that day.

Heckuva range for basic training. I don't think we shot any range that had more than 300m pop-ups. But when you in Mizzou in Jan.... it's to cold to do anything outside IMO.

Same here.

I got to shoot there a few times with LANG many moons ago. The shooting was very fun but the biggest kick for this small town coonass was watching all of the deer cross the roads throughout the night.
