Lately, I stopped going because there are too many people and more youths that come in packs of 15 with all of them holding their AR on their shoulder.

But for $6, there aren’t any better places.

Yes there is. Hell, you can legally shoot on federal land for free.

Unfortunately we are closed so the state can make improvements to our berms and parking areas. Should be closed for about a month.

Yes. It is only $6 and you can stay all day. The only additional costs are for clay shooting and paper targets if you need some. We charge an additional $5 per box of shells you want to shoot. We provide the clays. You just bring your shotgun and however many boxes of shells you want to shoot. Paper targets are 2 for $1 for plain paper targets and $1ea for the "splatter" type targets that leave a fluorescent ring around the bullet holes so it's easier to see where your rounds are impacting the target.

That's it. Sorry about the confusion on the site and website. I'll let our rangemaster know that the phone number has the incorrect message.

Hope to see you out there once we do reopen.

While I can't say this doesn't happen, it's not an all day/every day thing, but we also have no control over when this happens. Please don't let these types of generalizations keep you from coming to check out our range. But because we are the most popularly used shooting range owned by the state, that's a part of why we lean on the side of safety and caution and run a tight ship out there. Yes, it can get very crowded out there and that's why we run it the way we do. Our #1 priority is SAFETY. I don't want any of our shooters, fellow range officers OR MYSELF to go home with more holes in me than I went there with!

Send me an email at CDANIEL985@GMAIL.COM and once we reopen I'd like to get you a free pass to come shoot out at our range.

cdaniel you’ve been called out

While I do admit some of our older range officers had been known to be "Range Nazis" I can say with extreme assurance that it's not like that any longer. Yes, we do run a tight ship in the interest of extreme safety however we've worked hard as an organization to attempt to weed out the crotchety old men and/or at least get them to understand the extreme authoritative behaviors are not acceptable.

Any of you that have mentioned or experienced that before but haven't been back to see us in a few years, I invite yall to come back out and give us a try again.

Was out there this evening. Decided to go down oil well road instead of shooting range road. So quiet out there in the evenings. Frogs and owls all I heard.
