I have a 336 and it is my favorite gun to hunt with. I love having the ability to shoot open sights and scoped on the same gun

The only thing I wish it had different is to have that lacquer finish on it instead of bare wood. I think I am gonna get my uncle to do it this summer though

That octagon barrel on the 94 is pretty pimp, but they start at around $1k IIRC.

The Marlin can be had for ~$350 at Wally World

Winchester 94, but they have gotten expensive as hell. So go with the Marlin.

I went with the Marlin 'cause I was putting a scope on it. Winchesters' have top eject if I'm not mistaken....?
