I carry a 45 because I only bow hunt, and this year I got charged by a pissed off bear....so yea I think I will carry.
(Black bear sow with cubs I was the third person she went out of her way to charge this year alone, NELA.)

I bring my AR 15 with several thirty round mags. I keep it strapped to my back just in case if I need it. To be honest I have only used my deer rifle so far but it is nice to have it.
