For Brass to Mouth: get a work sharp knife sharpener. It'll get them scary sharp.
For the every day carry, I use an original Puma Prospector that was made in Soligen back in the 70's. Nice and flat, not too large or small. They come up now and then on eBay but get a used one if you can

Mine should be here this week. That thing scared me how sharp it was.
I don't lose my knives. I have a 10yr old Kershaw leek and a 8yr old Kershaw scallion.

Nope, I'm a Grant High Cougar, transplanted Farmervillian, born in Lafayette

Spyderco made sharpeners before they started making knives. They pride themselves on their factory edge. My Native 5s have the smoothest open/close action of any knife in my collection.

FTD, well, you ought to be "well rounded".
Some of my lineage started up on "The Loutre".

I'm well-rounded, indeed. The Loutre is a popular spot hereabouts.

Well, let's pronounce it the correct way.
"The Looter".

You'd think ole chtisteaux columbeaux discovered Union parish with Bayou Darbonne and Bayou Loutre mixed in with all the Nip N' Tuck frenchy population fro Wards Chapel to Truxno.
Posted on 12/27/14 at 5:35 pm to Ole Geauxt
I've met a few from Nip n Tuck, and I sure don't want to claim them as fellow cajuns
Posted on 12/27/14 at 5:37 pm to FightinTigersDammit
Watch it, my "geauxt" folks are from Nip N Tuck.
Posted on 12/27/14 at 5:39 pm to Casty McBoozer
Benchmade 531 or a 940 in civilian attire. Benchmade Presidio or Spyderco Manix 2 XL for work.
Posted on 12/27/14 at 5:41 pm to Ole Geauxt
No offense, Geauxt. I'm sure your folks aren't the trash I'm referring to.
