There were beaucoup here in Tilden back in October, now there’s nothing. Heard the same thing out around Colorado City. They say something got them, but they don’t know what. Has anyone heard anything?

we used to have so many quail out on matty peninsula you had to swerve to miss them walking across the roads. now, nothing

in that area its a combination of red ants, bobcats and yotes

Had a guy tell me that there were a bunch of anthrax spores in the soil this year in south texas and killed all the small game on his place. Said it was a ghost town.

We had ZERO rain from June until September this year down the road from Tilden this year. I'm guessing that had something to do with it.

We were expecting and ok crop in Paducah Tx this year, but now I am hearing little to no birds. I plan on going out next week for the first time.

What is the feral hog population in those areas? They eat turkey eggs so they would surely eat quail eggs.

Our blue quail population has held on pretty strong, the bobwhites have really disappeared. You are correct though, nothing like they were in October. We jumped a few coveys a couple weeks ago cruising around. Not nearly enough to warrant a quail hunt though.

We are also in Tilden

This summer a large portion of Texas was already trying to rebound from the previous years drought and during the hottest part of the summer they went 10 weeks with no rain and many days over 100 degrees
