What's the deal with the Can Am kick? I swear everybody around here is looking to get one. Are they that good?

My bad. I wasn't talking about you. Just the hunting public as a whole. I didn't read any of the thread before my post.
I know people who have spent a whole bunch of money on big huge bikes when they could have easily gotten by with a two wheel drive 250. You don't want to make the mistake of getting a bike much bigger than you need, just like you don't want to make the mistake of buying a bike smaller than you need.
Gotta think about what's between where you park your truck and where your stand is. If it's 2 miles of horrible arse skitter ruts, yea you probably need a brute force. If it's well groomed mississippi roads, you can do just fine with the smallest 4x4 honda makes.
ETA: Whatever you get, make sure it's a 4x4

They have assloads of power and lots of ground clearance. Pretty insane machines. My boss just got a can am side by side and it is AWESOME.

oh believe me ive been looking for a month and Ive seen brute force 9000's with skidder tires bored over to a jet engine with a snorkel BUT THIS BIKE HAS NEVER SEEN WATER!
haha na I was set on buying used but after seeing nearly every single four wheeler with giant tires and snorkels, I just dont trust that people take as good a care of some as they say.
Im probably going with the foreman but just wanting some opinions

i would still consider the rancher but Im worried I will regret not buying a little bigger.
Rancher's a good bike, but this is a fact.

Do me favor, go drive a Polaris sportsman. If you don't want it then, go get a foreman.

All of the manual shift hondas are good bikes. I've heard the rincon is a POS, but I don't know that for sure.
If yamaha still makes the manual shift big bear than that's another one to look at. You may like it more than the foreman.
IMO, there isn't a better bike on the market than the foreman. It's way more powerful than the average man will ever use it for.
There are good used bikes out there but they're hard to find for a fair price. Absolutely DO NOT buy ANYTHING with snorkles or giant tires. It was probably owned by someone less than 25 years old who gave it all kinds of mega hell.

Old school Honda manual shift 4x4 400. I duck hunt in AR rice fields and need something I can pick up and move out of a hole if I have to. It will haul me and the biggest deer around out of the woods too.

I had a Big Bear and all my friends had Ranchers. Their bikes not only out performed mine but outlasted it. Next bike I bought was a Rancher in 06. Had it two years and sold it, bought it back from the guy Wed and happy to have it back

My father bought a brand new Honda Rancher around 2000. 300CC I believe.
Runs like a dream to this day.
We have gravel roads most everywhere, usually don't ever bring it deep into woods unless deer is a long way from one of the roads.
Most it was ever "ragged" out was me and my brother from ages 13-16. That was 10 years ago.

I have a foreman with oversized tires, rims, winch, and baskets on front and back. But a bayou 220 would work just as well since I only use it tongi pick up deer after I shoot them and our logging roads are in great shape.

Not many people realize how incredible that is for a fourwheeler. That is frickton of riding on something that usually doesn't go more than 10 MPH.
