The best catfish bait I've ever use is long eared sunfish. I used to think they were pumpkin seeds, but now I'm not sure I've ever even used pumpkin seeds which kinda look more like chinquapin.

The spotted cats by my house prefer a F3 Triploid Pumpkinseed x Green Sunfish Hybrid.
