My pop can't eat or drink because he's undergoing treatment for throat cancer.

I have no idea what to get him.

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

TIA

Sorry to hear that.

I'm undergoing very similar treatments for tongue cancer but can still eat and drink for the time being. That may change a week from now though.

Sorry to hear this man. I suggest simply spending the day with him and letting him know you are there for anything he needs and how much you love and appreciate everything he's done for you over the years.

I woke up this morning to pancakes and sausage, coffee, and my boys brought me a present. A diamond knife sharpener, a new knife, and two LSU koozees.

He just finished his radiation and chemo last week. He's at home now.

Still can't taste or swallow.

He spent most of his rehab at Greenbriar in Slidell.

I would visit him about 5 times a week.

He's 86 already beat prostate and bladder cancer within the last 6 years.

He's a tough mofo.

ETA: I still don't know what to get him. I guess my presence is a good thing at least.

My dad used to polish off a bottle of Dewars a night, then sing opera. It was funny as hell.

Before he got sick, he just drinks 2 glasses of wine a day.

I bought him a 12 year old bottle of Dewars and told him we will drink it as soon as he can.

Josey, if you want to talk email me at kconradmantleATATT.NET

My dad loves good scotch and wine, but won't buy it. So I get it for him every holiday and bday. Last yr I saw all his fishing gear was old and beat up so I spent about 2k re-outfitting him. Although he really enjoyed it, I could tell his was looking for that bottle of scotch. So I slipped out and fetched one before he cried.
