I know one guy who's in a chair and another who got killed. Both of them involved falling from or falling stands.

Don't they give harnesses away for free when you buy a stand now?

yes and some are fairly nice but IMHO the quick release buckles and padding make the bought harnesses more comfortable than the complimentary ones that come with all TMA certified stands.

I hadn't bow hunted in a few years and went some last year, I have a buddy that will put a lock on in the clouds....I bought my first vest system with the quick release clips.

He has the life lines on a few of the stands, I never felt nervous at all negotiating the ridiculous climbs up being attached. I will try to always have it on from now on. I am not quite as nimble as I used to be either.
