I've narrowed down my search for a vacuum sealer to either a weston pro 2300 or a cabelas commercial 12". Does anybody have either one of these or an opinion why i should get one or the other?

I have a nicer food saver that gets used weekly. Im on my 3rd one and they usually last about 5-8 yrs before I need new one. Both of the ones you are looking at are nicer than mine, and mine are less than $200 or so.

I have the cabelas commercial one and it is awesome. The cabelas food handling stuff is an extremely good value across the line from what I've seen.

Yeah I am leaning toward the Weston because of the readily available replacement parts. My problem with food savers is that when they’ve burnt up I’ve had to throw them away. The cabelas says it has replacement parts but I have more faith in Weston for that.

I have a cableas 1 hp grinder and I’m embarrassed I don’t work it harder than I do. Grinding 3-6 deer per year in it is like cranking a corvette once a month to idle In the carport and listen to the radio for an hour.

Yeah I may just go for the cabelas, it’s a little cheaper and much lighter. Everybody I know with cabelas processing equipment loves it.

just check how many seals it can do in a row before going in to cool down mode.
