What do y'all call with? I recently just purchased a Woodhaven Red Wasp diaphragm. Played with it last night and it was sweet.

I bought a Primos 3 pack. Still can't call with it but I haven't been practicing enough, I'm gonna play with it this afternoon while I'm working on my euro mount.

gawd...

I have so many calls, it all really depends. I have a few custom pot calls that I like the most. The slate and copper surfaces are my favorite. Can't remember the name of the guys how made them. I have atleast 4 custom ones.

And I have so many mouth calls I could not tell you which one I use the most.

About 40 years ago (until my voice changed) I used natural voice. Since then have always made my own out of small garret snuff cans and rubbers (new - not used).

Box: heart breaker

Mouth calls: I'm like Salmon I have way to many to even know where to start.

Crow: Cheap one

Owl: Cheap one

See you in Grassy.

I like yellow yelper brand diaphrams especially the 2 reed split and the 4 reed 2 cutt. Their slates are pretty good just get a different striker than the composite one they come with.

Woodhaven makes good calls, I use the Red Wasp and the Yellow Jacket. I like custom slate calls and/or custom glass calls most of the time. I use box calls when I am hunting in the afternoon. Almost everything I use is custom other than the diaghrams. Midwest Turkey Supply(?) has all sorts of good stuff, check them out.

Not this year negro. Daddy has got a new honey hole. One that has tons of turkeys. Had 8 the other day walk out on me. 1 hen 6 jakes and one monster Tom. Kinda unusual tho to see that many jakes, but I'll take it!

The top section. All the way on top is Permar's trumpet set of a few years ago, and Buice's 40th Anniversary set. Up front is my trusty old friend.. a field grade Lapp caller thats been with me for every turkey hunt I've been on since 2004.

Top left...Frank Cox box caller, Hornstra yelpers, Lynch Turkey in the Pines, Lynch 12 hole, Leon's Turkey call, the Allegheny call, Snider's Blue and South Mountain callers..

Top right... Chalkley's Push pin, the Hunters Choice call, the Kenward call, G.A. Carleton scratch box, Hanenkrat's Old Master, Whedon Spirit Yelper, Era Chisholm trough, Hornsta yelpers and original copies of Davis's Book and McIlhenny's book.

The middle section..

You know the story, you get started turkey hunting and convince yourself there must be one call that turkeys can't resist. Next thing you know you have over 200 of them..

Cabelas has them; however, the modern calls bring like $40-50 and to be honest they are inconsistent as far as sound goes. The company changed ownership a few years ago.

You can go on E-Bay and get an older call made in MS or Alabama for less and they typically sound much better. My first call was a MS made World Champion and I still bring it out from time to time.
