Does anyone have any experience with this? Fished a few weeks ago and did very well. But there was also alot of grass around the rigs we were fishing.

Now that Hurricane Barry has stirred up the gulf, will this affect the tuna bite?

Don't know but we headed offshore out of Grand Isle Friday-Sunday. How far out is the rip right now?

I think it was Paradise that went yesterday and limited out on YF and on the way in a limit of snapper. This storm will do way more good than harm in the long run.

Ummmmm, sounds like somebody's story has a hole in it or somebody might get themselves in trouble.

maybe Federal waters? I don't know how that works. Can you catch in Federal waters outside the state waters during the season on weekdays?

You may be right, I'll freely admit I don't know the rules on that one.

Federal permit holders started red snapper on 06/01 and can go every day until sometime in August, I think it is either the 1st or 2nd.

Ripcharts is showing some clean water at about 20 miles due south of the Island, but naturally there is a cloud right in the way to see what it really looks like. Nice blue green line 43 miles to the Southeast. Maybe this afternoon the picture will be better. Regardless we are going Saturday.

Worth it if you have a boat that can go offshore

I'll keep you posted as it gets closer to the weekend. I would share the photo, but I don't know how to do that.
