I bought my Tundra in Oct 2010 and haven't had any issues yet. Well, the was a squeak that the dealership fixed. Mine is the platinum package. I wanted heated and cooled seats and I like having a chrome bumper and the 20in wheels (until I have to replace tires).
The engine is very stout. Over 400 ft/lbs of torque. But with that as you can imagine gas mileage is pretty terrible. I don't run mine too hard and I get right around 15 mpg. If I'm on the interstate and run 75-80 I get around 12 mpg.
I like the interior. Maybe it's because I had a Yukon XL before this and their interiors are very plain but I like it. Also like the nav system much better than my wife's MDX.
Someone mentioned the ride of it. I think it's better than my old Yukon XL (it was a 2004).
One of the main things I don't like abut them is that they come with street tires on them.

I've always thought tundra 4wds sat very low and didn't seem to have any ground clearance
As for the nav system, pretty sure ford blows everyone else out of the water

I know my nav is awesome. I have the upgraded Sony system too and it sounds really good

I'm a Ford guy but know several people that have had Tundras and Titans. One guy swore by his Titan but just recently got a Ford so not sure if there is something to that. One Tunda owner I know uses his like a 3/4 ton and hasn't had a prob(pulls goosneck with decent sized tractors). I did notice the 4 door Tundra doesn't have the rear seat space of the Ford

The 4 door crew cabs are huge in the rear seats the regular 4 doors, not so much. I have an '08 Tundra with 138k miles with zero problems. I averaged ~16 mpg. I have been very happy with the truck...

For a crew cab with a 5.6 you will not find another truck with a better price

I worked at a Nissan store and a GMC/Chevy store.
Those just blow away a Titan. The OP was Ford not GM so I went with Ford.
IMHO domestic pick-em-ups far miles ahead of the imports in style, power, functionality and technology.

I'm all about the GM also but when I was shopping around the Titan was just the better overall value
And for power, the Titan is a beast!
MPG sucks tho

The double cab is actually Toyotas extended cab. The Crew Max has the Ford Super Crew beat in leg room by 1 inch both front and rear, although both are huge and an inch probably isn't very noticeable.

I've got a 2005 Nissan Frontier with about 136K on it, and like you have only done preventive maintenance....just now having to replace the brakes.
It has been the best truck I've ever owned. I will probably get another one in a year or so and would probably lean toward the Ford, if I don't get another Nissan....I do wish they would change up the styles a little bit though, but I guess when something works, why change.

The F150s are nice. I love their ride and power. All 3 new engines are much more powerful than the old 5.4.
Fuel economy and occasional towing = Ecoboost
Everyday driving with fair amount of towing and/or engine mods = 5.0
Bat outta hell = 6.2
I looked at Tundras before getting my F150. I did not care for the interior or the ride. The engine is very powerful but I believe my 6.2 gets the edge. However, Toyotas reliability is second to none.
I did not consider the Titan. Same body style for a decade and very little interior comforts. However, my friends has been proven reliable with over 100k of very hard miles.
If I were going to pick my top 2 trucks it would be the F150 and Tundra. The others do not come close in power, reliability, interior. I picked my truck just on personal opinion but either choice is a good one.
(Yes I know that the Denali is nice, yes I know the LTZ is nice, and yes I know the Laramine is nice, but there are other reasons that I did not consider them.)
Thanks for the detailed analysis.
Of the 3, which one can the best deal be had? I tend to gravitate towards the higher trim levels.

King Ranch or platinum in the fords are nicer than everyone else's highest trim level.

my dad has the old 4.6 and makes 18-22.
my grandfather has the new 5.0 is it? and he makes the same.
both haul bay boats and horse trailers fine. i would personally go with the 5.0 over the eco most likely.

I honestly do not know what other trucks sell for. I can tell you that the F150s are often times sold for over 10k off window sticker. These tend to be the XLT and Lariats. However, the Fx4s are often times seen for going this low as well.
The higher the trim package (King Ranch, Platinum, Harley Davidson, Lariat Limited) the less off MSRP they come. I got roughly 6.5k off on my Platinum with 0% int.
While the discount isn't that great, Ford offers dozens of rebates. Just by going online and telling Ford you want a truck, they send you a $750 off coupon. If you own 10 shares of Ford stock, you are eligible for X-plan pricing (right above dealer invoice pricing). And I also qualified for American quarter horse association discount. Do some research and watch the price fall, then join the best club there is, the F150 club.
You did say that you liked higher trim levels, here's my run down:
Raptor: I don't think you wear white Oakleys and spike your hair so next.
Lariat Limited: comes standard with the 6.2 but is full time AWD and comes with white 22" rims, not for me.
Harley Davidson: also has 6.2 standard. I think they come standard with AWD but might be available in 4x4. I do not care for the badging, stripes, or rims so I stayed away.
Platinum: 5.0, 3.5, or 6.2. Most are fully loaded or you can get a few options left off. Available in 2x4 or 4x4. Basically a bit more refined King Ranch, but for a price. (sorry KR, I know we have been through this before)
King Ranch: 5.0 or 3.5. Very classic interior with beautiful leather, which if treated right will last. 2x4 or 4x4.
And finally: the Fx series. While not luxury, are very nice trucks. Can be very basic or as loaded as a loaded King Ranch minus the cowhide leather. Can be had in 4x4 or 2x4 and 5.0 or 3.5.
All the previous information is my opinion and typed on a phone. Sorry for grammar and spelling, not sorry for opinions.

I am surprised you get that bad of mileage. I think that the 6.2 scares away some buyers but my MPG are better than the 5.7 tundra. I was running home from destin yesterday between 75-80 and I was getting 16 mpg. This is with heavy 305/55/20 tires and 3.73 gears.
On the last F150 page someone asked that I post pics of my truck. I still cannot figure out photobucket but if someone will provide their email and wants to post them I can do that.
