Trolling Motor Removal--Bolts Frozen

I'll soon be replacing my old motorguide great white on an 18' bay boat. I tried to take the bolts off the other day, and they aren't moving. The big problem is the heads are Phillips, and they just strip when I try to turn them. I can get to the back side of two bolts, the other two are in blind holes. I'm thinking 1) use a dremel to grind off the nuts from the ones I can see and 2) drill the heads off the ones in blind holes. I've never dealt with the blind hole bolts before, so is there anything wrong with that plan? Also, what should I use to fill/repair the existing holes? TIA

Soak in WD-40 and use and impact driver
If the heads are too stripped, drill heads off and knock out.

I'll have to try the impact. If I drilled the heads off if the blind hole bolts, I'm guessing I'd be able to pull them out because the head won't be compressing it any more?

Yep, that's what I'm concerned about. I think I'm going to exhaust all other options before doing that.

ETA: Usually those rubber pieces dry rot and break every few years. I have more problems getting the bolts to stay in than I do gettting them out.
Fresh water problems...

Maybe set drill to reverse and see if you can gain purchase? Is there a backward bit made?

Oh, tip of wood bit might grab.

As in use wood bit with drill in reverse? What would this do? You saying something like an easy out?

yes he is trying to make it bite like and easy out.
I would not do that with a wood bit they can shear and cause all kinds of damage but his idea is decent just get a real easy out for that.
What is between the trolling motor mount and the surface of the boat? Is there space there and little rubber pads?

I call them left hand drill bits. I have a set just for instances like this. They can be hard to find though, I got my set from my Snapon dealer years back.

I'd be lying if I told you for sure, but I think there are some black rubber pads.

Yea I have a set of easy outs somewhere...idk if I have one small enough for these bolts. I'm sure o can find either a smaller size or left hand drill bit at Napa or something
