Does anyone know of a person in the Copia County area that professionally traps/hunts mainly coyotes? We are starting to get overrun with them, so I am hoping to get them back in check this spring. I am not looking for a weekend hunter but someone who regularly runs traps.

why dont you do it yourself? Its a great way to get in the woods after the season and is a freaking awesome experience. I used to enjoy trapping more than hunting. Have you ever ran catfish lines on the river? its like that x10 thr adrenaline rush when comming up on a set and having a yote by the foot is amazing!

You might check with TPWD. They may maintain a list of trappers, although in Texas, that may get long so maybe not.

While I would love to hunt them after deer season we do not get up to the camp enough to put a dent in the population. I have hunted them in the past and it is a blast, but time is very limited in the spring to do so. I am hoping that a trapper can come in a few days a week until it is no longer beneficial for him to do so.

Don’t they chew off their foot to escape the trap?

Not if you check your traps regular. I have never had it happen. Hear of it more often with coons, but again check the traps like you are supposed to and it will be avoided
