You can't go wrong with Yakima or Thule racks. I've got several friends that have used these brands on cars. No screwing into roof or anything. They just clamp onto door opening. Will post a pic once she sends me one.

If you're not going far, and not hauling a kayak that often, you can get by with a foam pad system for around $60 including all straps and stuff. These clamp on systems can run a couple hundred dollars or more.
If you plan to leave it on, you'd want to get on that locks at each pillar so the rack doesn't get stolen while your out paddling a river. Sucks to come back to car and have no way to get kayak home.......
This is a clamp on system for a truck, but it works same as car.

I let a guy from the OB borrow my 14ft perception Carolina and a roof rack. He used it on his Tahoe. They went to Biloxi with it. No problems.
