Trailer Repaint/Rewire/Reboard "Restoration"

I inherited Ms Bapple's grandpa's old trailer that has been sitting out for 10 years since his passing. This thing definitely needed some love. Some things I've learned that I would do differently next time:
1. I didn't have the space for sandblasting but that would've sped up the process instead of brushing with a wire cup on a grinder.
2. An HVLP sprayer would've cut the time considerably but I didn't have the space with overspray concerns. Just used rollers and brushes. You can see the brush marks a bit but not too noticeable.
I used Rustoleum Farm and Implement primer and paint. It may have needed more time to cure (I had it sit for 4-5 days since the last base coat) but some of it rubbed off when putting the boards in. I went with Massey Ferguson Gray.
This is in its original condition:
It's a dump trailer so I had to jumper the ground to get the new taillights to work properly:
I also got trailer lights with a 5-flat connector to include reverse lights. This makes a huge difference when backing up the trailer. Strongly recommend!
Boards off:
I cut off the old jack with a grinder and cutting wheel. This thing was in really bad shape and was actually welded on 3 sides to the trailer. Took some work but finally cut her off:
Starting the wire brushing:
Starting the first coat of primer:
2 coats of primer:
2 base coats:
Spray paint for the rims:
New wheel jack:
Added rubber grommets to reduce noise and vibration and ziptied the wiring underneath:
Finished:
Thanks for viewing! Ask any questions.

I changed the boards on mine on Friday afternoon. I need to rewire and paint as well but I was under a time crunch...

I see your trailer has a C-channel for the boards at the front and back.
Mine had that as well but I found it was easier for me to cut the welds and remove the front C-channel to get them in there. It's only a 10 foot trailer so bending the boards would've been a PITA. Just put a carriage bolt through each board on a crossmember to hold each board in place.
Having fresh boards makes the whole trailer look better.

Awesome! I have a a Big Tex that needs touching up. I have used the glossy black farm implement paint in the rattle can in the past. Results are really good.

How would you rate the durability over the time you've used it? This stuff is pretty thick and I'm hoping once fully cured it'll be a bit more durable. Barely scraping boards over the paint in areas took it off past the primer.

The front has a flat bar that has 5 bolts in it. Thank God I didn’t have to grind it out or bend boards to make them fit. I just thought it was funny we had similar work going on this weekend. You did a great job getting it all taken care of.

Cool project. The rubber grommets to reduce vibration is a nice touch.

Now that sounds expensive but interesting. Feel free to elaborate.

Thanks. I actually went to Home Depot with the idea and found some rubber feet for chairs to not scratch hardwood floors. Had to cut them a bit shorter and then put a bolt with a very wide head through them but worked like a charm.

I let it sit for 8 days before doing anything with it. I sprayed outdoors and let it cure indoors. I was afraid the high humidity outdoors would affect it. It will mar when something hard rubs on the finish but it seems to hold well enough. It is a trailer and will get scratched. I plan to just sand and touch up as necessary.
