I was planning on planting 5 acres of millet tomorrow. I have never done it before, so I dont know what the limits of planting are.

Weather is calling for. 25" tomorrow and 4" Saturday. If I plant it and drag a rake over it or disc it in, will it stick or wash out?

I’m hoping all this rain won’t make all of mine split.
Not quite ready to pick, but getting a good size.
Seems to happen at some point every year.

25” is a shite ton. Millet is cheep, but 25” is a lot. How is your drainage?can the water get off in 24-48 hrs?

I planted one acer about 3 weeks ago and planing on another acer tomorrow morning.. Washington parish.

The army worms already got in my first planting and ate 3/4 of it in one night. Tuesday morning it looked fine Wednesday morning bammm 3/4 of it was gone. A crop of worms like no one has ever seen.
Liquid 7 is your friend have it ready and monitor it daily for worms even then they can take it all out in a day or two.

Also if planting 5 acres consider two plantings next year one to come ready early and one to come ready on normal timeframe

Correction...,

.25".

Some of it is on a hillside, with a mild grade. Some is pretty flat. With it chopped up, I'm not sure how it will drain.

What do you mean early and normal time frame?

If it's too wet, and you can't plant, you should check out this new series on Amazon.

Clarkson's Farm

quote:

An intense, arduous and frequently hilarious year in the life of Britain’s most unlikely farmer, Jeremy Clarkson. Join Jeremy and his rag-tag band of agricultural associates as they face-up to a backdrop of unhelpful weather, disobedient animals, unresponsive crops and an unexpected pandemic. This is Jeremy Clarkson as you’ve never seen him before.

Jeremy Clarkson's First Tractor Driving Lesson (On YouTube)

Would think it might be entertaining, and maybe even a little educational, to anyone that's new to farming.

I wouldn’t worry about the 1/4”. I would be worried about the 4” rain washing it away. I thought this was going to be for ducks. A duck hole probably wouldn’t washout like the side of a hill might if it sloped and disked
