Not covered in them, but we have a big boy that comes through every couple months and flips feeders that are staked in the ground with rebar spills the corn and eats until he's full then moves to another one. He's a real a-hole.

Besides the extra work they put on hunters in regards to feeder destruction, I just wouldn’t wanna walk up on one day or night.

I’ll be in Tensas in couple days and I pray I don’t see any cause I’ll be sleeping in my tree or calling for my buddies to come get me!!

Definitely something you don't want to walk up on, or have walk up on you

Had both happen plenty of times. No problems with the bears, but they should be respected.

Agreed they aren't very aggressive IMO. We have many bears and encounter them every year they are way more scared of us even with cubs.

The only hairy encounter we have had in about ten years is where a neighbor was baiting and a female and three cubs came to his feeder at dark. The bears winded him and the cubs climbed the tree 5' from him and the mom was at the base of his tree not very happy. I went in with a SxS and ran them off and got him out of there but even in that instance the female showed no aggression to the hunter she stayed on the ground stomping and trying to get the cubs out rather than climbing the tree to get the hunter.

I routinely hike, jog, scout without a sidearm at our place. Maybe one day it will get me but not a huge concern for me.

Hell yeah. I am more worried about catching a stray from some other cat in the woods.

If you look at accidental hunting deaths for Louisiana mist of those come from private lands. I really can’t even think of any mistaken for game accidents on Louisiana public land because there are much stricter hunter orange requirements on public than lrivate

On another note scroll on the LDWF website and look at hunter success rates on WMAs. There are a couple close to you that really stand out. It’s a matter of if you want to hunt deer in dry Pineywoods or rubber boots in the bottoms

Really? That is crazy interesting and I didn't even know that. I have a WMA on a TON of land like 5 minutes from my house, and it buds next to a "private" hunting club that takes you on hunts. 110% it has a high fence but they have it all, deer, duck, everything. And I am really interested in getting in there. Conditions don't bother me I've been in worse, just want to get out in the quiet away from the world lol

The few I've seen have not been aggressive, and were more timid, but its gonna be a long time before I get used to seeing them around here, and that one in particulars back comes up to my chest

Stands on our club are starting to show deer slowly making their way back to plots. WAY more activity this week than last week. Hoping they ate all the acorns on the handful of trees surrounding our club.
