Any updates? I am Leaving today. I am going to bass fish and sac-a-crappie fish. Any ideas on jig colors for sac-a-crappie? Thanks.

Loading the boat as well this am - heading up after a HS baseball game this afternoon. Have not heard a lot of reports but we go this time every year and do fairly well. Sacs - shiner about 18" under cork around brush along bank in coves or grass flats in coves. Can also catch them staging under Pendleton bridge. Bass - work worms or flukes over grass in Indian mounds area or any flat with grass. Spinners and rattle trap work Well depending on the spawn (early or late) - just adjust retreive speed till you find what works. I am no expert and we go mainly for fun and family fellowship - the catching is lagniappe. If looking for a place to worship Suniday am, check out Beulah Baptist south of Toledo Bend - small church and we about double attendance each year

Good luck!

Oh yea - some OB prayers for patience please - taking my potential future son in law for his first fishing trip. Picture all of the back
lashes, jigs in trees, missed fish etc......

But also picture the rush of a first fish!

Happy Easter weekend to all.- be safe!

Thanks hunt. We are in San Miguel and go to the Catholic church in Zwolle for Easter. Keep us posted on how you do and I will as well.

If clear water, blue ice or monkey milk. Basically anything with silver/gray/blue. If stained, Cajun Cricket or Electric Chicken.

People consistently catch on black and chartreuse in all kinds of water.

I rarely use those anymore, but that would be just fine. I use mostly Garland and Pan Assassin minnow bodies. Straight single tail.

You fish this under a cork? Do you use roadrunners much?

Yes, but rarely at Toledo. I'm sure it would work if they are shallow. I mostly just throw them on a 1/32 head and work it just over the grass.

I usually keep one tied on and go back and forth with regular head to see which is working.

You mean without the spinner? I will be fishing pretty shallow stuff.

I use something like this, but painted. I don't like round ball heads,

So, that head on this body?

Comme Ca?

Just bumped along the grass? I will try that along with shiners, under a cork and roadrunners with spinner heads. If none of that works I will drink and go catch some bass.

Yes.

If you get bored, look up "Toledo bend Bass" on youtube. He has a bunch of spring perch videos taken shallow in coves.

Been bass fishing since I was 10 or so. Now, if the white perch are biting, I care not one bit about bass. This happened about 4 years ago. It's like a disease.
