Headed off to Toledo Bend this Saturday through Mardi Gras. Me an a good group of guys staying at the usual place at the end of 1215.

Looks like the weather may be not in our favor. A front is forecasted to blow in and drop the highs from 70s to the 40s.

Headed out regardless. The amount of on the water time will depend on the rain. Worse case it will be a weekend of chillin on the porch drinking a few beers with friends.

Any fishing tips for this area with the weather being like it will? May have to trailer the boats to other areas depending on winds.

I've been catching a lot of fish in that area super shallow around cypress trees and bushes. Reaction bite on chatterbaits, spinner baits, and swim jigs.

I'm going to be there Saturday to Tuesday as well.... and of course the weather is going to suck. Anyway, going to try and make the best of it. Hopefully the wind isn't too bad. Do you think the bass and sacs will stay shallow? I'm thinking they're committed at this point but could be wrong.

Trailering over to a protected cove or any area out of the high winds is our plan.

Weather sucks. Everyone struggled
Only 2 bass caught yesterday. Biggest was over 3 lbs by my friends son that came along. That made his day.

Cold water temps. Cold front blowing in. Not getting any better

Ft. Polk Bass club held a trny at the Ft. Polk recreation site. Buddy of mine fished it said a 14lb. plus was caught by a participant. The winning stringer was somewhere near 20lbs. The dude that caught the 14 came in the top ten somewhere, can't remember where. It was the only fish he caught.

It was tough out there this weekend. Fished the Haynesville Shale tournament and came in 9th out the 169 teams. Fished shallow both days but man it was a grind.

Tough weekend. Skunked today. Guy at the launch had one very close to ten. Followed him to Toledo town and official weight was 9.89.
