luckily there is no tie to deer to human transfer....yet....but from my understanding this disease is terrible and until late stages there is no way to visually identify CWD. It comes from Proteins and effects the brain via the lymph system. transferred extremely easily from deer to deer and has been identified in Reindeer and Cariboo in Canada.

This is becoming a big issue that is almost impossible to control.

Sorry for your loss. Did your relative eat a lot of deer meet from a CWD area? Was the CDC notified and what were the conclusions from their investigation? This would be useful info for this discussion.

Again not to be a dick but I have posted all if that info multiple times in previous threads. One of the reasons why I think this needs a sticky. There has probably been 20 threads on CWD in the past couple months.

Reindeer in Norway and camels in the middle east have CWD.
