So can you just go pick a spot for your blind and leave it there for a day or two? Are there designated areas? Whats been your experience?

Nope. Can't build/leave anything on a WMA.

Yes. LDWF has maps of each WMA, outlining boundaries.

They all are difrent. What kind of hunting are you looking to do and which areas? Most are a lot of work...homework and preseason scouting. G'luck

I would look at google earth and identity some secluded areas. Forget a stand and just build a ground blind at a high point.

Can’t leave blinds and deer stands have to be removed from tree, left flat on the ground, and tagged with your name, phone number, and hunting license number.

There’s maps on LDWF website for each WMA to show boundaries and trail locations. But if you’re asking if there’s reserved spots, no there’s not.

If its easy walk in access you’re going to have company. Only way to get away from other hunters is go to boat accessible areas or into areas that other people dont want to walk through (swampy muck or thick brush).

Make sure you check regulations on LDWF site. WMA hunting seasons aren’t always the same as outside, especially for deer

If you're willing to work longer and harder than the average guy, you'll probably be successful. IMO, scout twice as often as you hunt.

Identify places via satellite imagery that look good and start from there.

If you go the first weekend of October or the weekend after Thanksgiving, you'll encounter about 50,000 hunters (slight exaggeration but you get the point). Most other weekends aren't too bad.

If you wanna duck/deer hunt, get to your spot early before someone else claims it.

And if you see a hog, shoot it. They're out of control in WMAs.
