It's time to get a new shotgun for next years duck season. I've got it narrowed down to the SBE3 and A400 xtreme plus. Have shot both and liked both, with a slight nod to the SBE3. I have heard/read a bunch of people saying the SBE3 shoots about a foot high. Is this still a problem?

Mine shots 6” high at 30 yards. When I first got the gun and was patterning it I was pissed. I thought the barrel was bent, then I read up on it. Now that I am use to the way it shoots I think I like it better than my guns that don’t shoot high. ( For Wing Shooting )

I've been a Benelli guy my entire life, but if I was buying a duck gun right now, it'd have to be the A400 Xtreme Plus. Beretta really knocked it out of the park with that one.

You need to get fitted, and a gunsmith can make adjustments to your shotgun so it will shoot right. The newer model Remington 870's are made for taller average heights of people compared to older model 870's. I had to get my stock cut down a little and a shim put in it to get it to shoot right. I thought it was gun defect too, but it just didn't fit right. Blew my mind.

I also was torn between these two guns awhile back. I ultimately decided to go with the a400 because I had several buddies that had the SBE3 and they all said that it would not shoot POA/POI. I also liked the feel of the a400 better. I have had zero issues out of mine and I duck and turkey hunted with it for several years. Now it is strictly duck as I have switched to the affinity 20 ga for turkey.
