Yep, its definitely worth the extra time to take precautions before you wade through thick stuff.

I know somebody that got nailed by one of these ticks and has the Alpha Gal syndrome now. It is an absolute nightmare.

Stuff like this and snakes are why I wear boots and jeans year round even if it’s 100 degrees out

Man, ticks are approaching fire ants as my most hated insect...

They ain't insects. They are arachnids. But they are hated. I agree with that.

Permethrin.

Spray on 24 hours in advance, nothing crawling up your leg will survive.

Good note: I have a buddy that got the red meat allergy from this same tick. It took years and years but the allergy wore off, and he can eat red meat again. Just wanted to give you a little more hope about it b/c this damn tick had me paranoid for a while.
