My guy at Abita lumber thinks he can get it for us, working on it and I'll know more today or Monday. If he can I would be willing to pick up all and bring over by trailer. I will post up as soon as I have an answer.
I'd be willing to get in on this...I'm in Slidell and can bring you the cash or I can PayPal you...
If this doesn't work out, anyone willing to let me pay you in advance for the materials, I'd appreciate it...

The only way would be to tie into my outside AC unit and drop a pig leg for power. How long is your power cord?
Posted on 4/25/14 at 7:46 pm to fishfighter
75' total between the 25' Camper cord and my 50' of 10ga SO cord

If you have a Harbor Freight store local, just buy some C clamps. I lot cheaper. 3" ones will work out fine.

He deals more in resins. That link I put up, they are easy to order over the phone and took about three days to get it. 2 qt packages and shipping was just over $75 if I remember right.
resorcinol search on Amazon pulled up this dap product
Fish...is this similar to the cascophen? LINK
it says you mix with water...I don't think thats right, but I had found some sources for you in your first build thread and I remember you looking for Dap products

Hell no. Weldwood used to make resorcinol glue, but they quit. That ling I put up has the right stuff. It's a two part glue that is full water proof. Once cured, you will never break it apart even letting it soak in water for a year.
Besides that, people that build airplanes use that glue. That strong.

I see you mentioned with that link, that we may be able to get a bulk purchase from them...any way to find out if this can be done...
I'd love to have everyone get together and buy the largest quantity possible and leave you with enough left over to build theses things whenever you felt like it...
ETA: Bad News...the link says this stuff is backordered until May 9th...probably wont make it here in time...

also...I think I found a source for stainless steel ring shank nails...may be overkill...but they show different lengths and thicknesses.
length being more important than gauge I guess...what length ring shank nails would you recommend...

I found a place that does 4 1 gallon resorcinol kits for $420(+$59 shipping
)
anyone one to ship in and get this and leave the rest for Fish to build whenever he feels like it?
that's enough for 16 pirogues...
How many are building total?

Those 1" are the ones to get, but SS is a little over kill. If you can get them in brass, that is even better. It's going to take at least 1 lb, maybe more. Also, we will be cutting some of the nails down to about 1/2"- 3/4".
Nobody will need to pick up any 2"x4"'s. I am going to buy them ahead of time to make all the bow stems in advance to save a lot of time. I will still do one when everybody gets here to show how I do it.
Still no sticky.
