Just walked in from doing a little work on mine, should be finished this weekend or early next week at the latest, I went a little different with mine than those that have posted so I am anxious to put the finished pics up for review

My to do list just keeps growing and the Pirogue keeps getting put at the end of the list...
Resealing the roof of my 18' cargo trailer I haul my product around in...developed a leak a few months ago and now it's worked it way to where it dampens the product...
just finished using the Dremmel multimax with a scraper blade and in 3 hours got half of the old sealer off the seams/joints...

Use a torch or heat gun to soften the sealer and scrape it up with a putty knife.

never heard of that...
that multimax with the scraper blade works wonders...It's what most RV places use to get off the old sealer when they do reseal jobs...
Yesterday, I took off way more than I could seal this a.m. ... now it's threatening to rain...
This high dollar self leveling roof seal($10 a tube) doesn't go far...two tubes to do a 12' seam
I've got 7 tubes left and have 32' + two vents(8') to seal that I've already scraped...still have 38'+/- to scrape after that...probably need another 10 tubes...I figure 90' total to be sealed... that's 15 tubes total plus a few for good measure...so yeah... I need 10 more tubes...

Why not just replace the roof with a rubber roof and be done with it?

It's a cargo trailer...not really set up to put rubber membrane down with the side joints it has...you still have to reseal all the seams (front rear side and around the vents)every few years as well...

Jump on that ASAP. When I redid my camper, I went back with a rubber roof. Really was easy. I order the membrane off ebay along with the glue and sealer.

my camper has a rubber roof on it now...just needs to have all the seams resealed...
It's almost worth it to put on a whole new rubber roof while you're up there if you are doing it yourself...I found a heckuva deal on the membrane at an RV surplus part site...

Here is mine, I had every intention of priming and painting, even bought the primer, but everyone that looked at it suggested stain and varnish, and I agreed, I realize that it will take more upkeep and not be at rugged but will work well for my plans. Still have a few coats to go, but good enough for pics at this stage

Thanx, I am real proud if it, yes used min wax cherry stain followed by (as of now 4 coats and enough to do 2 more) mcloskey man o war marine spar varnish
