Why do you think it’s harder in the wind? Because you are more upright? It cuts waves better than a single hull so that negates the wind

Just seems like you would sit up really high and be vulnerable to the wind. PAC would be the real test.

It would do fine against current. IMO would be easier to against it than a regular hull

Are any of the launch bays at PAC even wide enough for the Bluesky?

Yeah don’t think there is 1, hell have of em won’t fit a PA

I hit West cove marsh yesterday morning against better judgement, couldn’t get to deep on a low tide and high winds, but the water was surprisingly clean in spots
Found a couple reds but that was it

Same to you, bud. If Native tweaks the steering and improves shallow water capability I'd consider switching. That might be my favorite hull.

2 trout and a red at PAC, lost a few more trout due to stupid mistakes but after not fishing for about 7 months it was nice to knock the rust off. Once the wind picked up around 9:30 activity basically died down.

How was the water?

I think Hobie's shallow water capability and ability to "flutter the fins" is over hyped. I say this because I have fished alongside friends with Hobies for years and 99% of the time if I'm pulling my drive due to shallow water, so are they.

Hobie's performance in grass is noticeably better though. Dual sided steering is also a cool feature I hope Native will incorporate one day.

Agree. I’ve seen the abuse stumps do to the mirage drive compared to props this year. I’ve yet to see a prop fail banging against a stump. If I had a dollar for every time I hear a guy had to bend a rod on a drive I’d be rich. Especially after fork and Seminole

Decent, messed around with trout for a bit longer than I should have, then started trying to sight cast reds. By that point the wind was starting to get going and water clarity quickly declined. To the point where I was seeing fish but was basically on top of them and was getting blown around a good bit.

That's my biggest issue being left handed. I use the right side more than the left.

And I'm right handed and often wish my steering was on the the right. I use right-handed baitcasters primarily, which means I hold the rod with my left hand. Adjusting steering on the left side means I have to switch the rod over to my right before I can do that. We just need the option of both! Or maybe I need to start fishing with more lefty baitcasters like YOURADHERE

Why can’t they put steering on both sides?

For the price of that I think I'd just get a gheenoe at that point. That looks like a pedal drive SUP. don't get me wrong, i'd fish it, but a 170 pound kayak that's the same width as a gheenoe? I think i'd opt for something with a motor at that point. You aren't navigating any backwater in that thing that you couldn't with a gheenoe

Then you miss out on fishing with your buddies and club fishing and tournaments. The kayak community has grown tremendously.

The new kick up fins are supposed to solve that problem. I know all the 2020 Outbacks and PA's have kick up fins, but I think those are the only models that come with them.

That’s what I said about the new hobie 360’s. At that price point you can get a used flat boat with a surface drive. Hmmm let me think
