Thanks for the offer Makers. Looking at the shorter models for price and weight savings. Whatever I end up getting will need to go on a roof rack on top of my SUV.

My 10' slayer propel is only 55 lbs. It's easy to put on my roof rack. Just doesnt track as well as longer boats. But better for the small river I like to fish in the hill country.

A guy I know had a Hobie when I met him. He bought his boy a Slayer 10. When the boy wasn't using it, he would. He has since bought two more 10s.

Anyone have inside intel on the new offerings from Old Town being announced on Thursday?

Looks like a paddle, pedal, electric motor lineup? Maybe just the Topwater series with interchangeable inserts?

I used to think I would never want power. OTOH, there are times, like a solid paddle or peddle across a long stretch just to get to a spot, where I wish I did have it.

Yeah not a lot of details in that vid
But curious also and looks like the yak in the front has a electric motor in it and hopefully the prices for those have come down, when I was looking at one for my old Radar they wanted $1500 for it
Hard pass..

The lack of dealer support would be an issue for me

Any of y'all do much night fishing in the spring? Looking at potentially making a night time salt trip this weekend with the full moon being out.

I went to some lights I normally do well last weekend and didnt see a fish
I think the bad weather had alot to do with it, but it was also colder/earlier in the year.

i dont do it frequently though, especially this time of the year

Somewhere around BL. Big winds and a full moon have me second guessing fishing during the day. I'll reach out to Kemo later in the week to see whats going on.

Had two people from the LC Kayak club fish WC marsh on Saturday and didn't have a bit. I'll probably stay north/east if I go.

If I have an open spot you want to join?

There's some non-refuge marsh at the camp canal.

Funny you mention that, I saw a while back someone had roped that canal off but haven't seen an update recently.

last time i hit Hog Island (mid nov) they had a huge arse pipe run along with northern side of the main cut heading towards WC
sucks because i couldn't cross it to access the north marsh area, ended up just fishing the south side but on a low tide that shite is super skinny

Old Town launched their new lineup this morning if you go to their FB page. Looks like they also renamed their other boats.
