Very true. Still gonna be haters when people come out of the closet. What happened to good old fashioned pirogues. Thats what I still use when I need something small.

Use a pirogue, personal choice. Hopefully when you start a thread about it no kayak peeps will be petty exhibit female tendencies and come in and trash your personal preference.

Yeah, don't think I have seen anyone trash a pirogue. Seems some people have issues with yaks, can't quite figure out why.

Me either actually. I just like the picking back and forth. I am pro anything that gets you on the water.

Yep, same here. My latest infatuation is the packraft.

Highly portable, inflatable kayak/raft. Packs less than 5 lbs.

The absolute best place to learn anything and everything about kayak fishing in south Louisiana is by attending one of the two major tournaments put on by BCKFC. There a couple of hundred individual yakkers in attendance at each event (one in the spring in Leeville and one in the fall in Empire) and all are more than willing to help out new paddlers or anyone else with a general interest in the sport.

Long term member is all. I get no benefit whether people attend or not. I honestly didn't even mean it as "pay to play" sort of thing if that's how it came off. I meant attend it for the social aspect of the weigh-in post fishing drinking/Q&A more than anything.
