If you're looking for a kayak it's best to get there super early. Last couple times I've gotten there around 7:30 and been one of the first 30 or so. This time I might not show up until around 8, that way all the good deals are scooped up and I don't buy anything just because it's cheap.

Yeah, I've been spending a lot lately. And I'll be buying a trailer soon.

I still went anyway even though I wasn’t looking for anything. Got a Hobie fish bag that fits the front of my compass to hold food/beer for $29, got a H track mounted rod holder for trolling/unhooking fish for $10, and a Plano box with 12 different Buggs lures for $10. Seems like it wasn’t as crowded and not as much stuff as usual.

I had too many Jucifers last night and didn't get up early enough. Lol. Nice score with the Buggs. Those are like $7 a piece.

Had every intention of buying a used slayer propel at the P&P yardsale and my dad talked me in to ordering a 2019. Now I’ll have a day trip to Lafayette in a few weeks and I’m scouting restaurants already.

Old Thyme Grocery and Johnson’s (how do you pronounce that 2nd word) look like they’d be right up my alley for lunch.

Its pronounced like boo-can-year

It means “smoke house”. And Johnson’s is awesome!

Salinity in Big Lake was down to 12ppm today. I doubt the trout fishing is good right now. Flounder should still turn on soon though.

My wife is taking a writing conference here in eastern Idaho just south of Yellowstone. Because of limited lodging options in this area (Ashton Id) we decided pull the trailer and all go.

Me and the boy didn't have much else to do except fish and visit Yellowstone. When we got to the private lodge where her conference is, we discovered the have a private pond with a few 2 person yaks and a few SUPs. After we dropped her off yesterday, the boy and I geared up and took out one of the kayaks. With in just a few mins dad had a fish on (which the boy got to reel in). We fished just over a hour hooked 6, and landed 4. All rainbows, with the smallest between 16-17" and 2-3 lbs. Sorry no pics as I didn’t take my phone.

It was a lot of fun for the two of us and proved the viability of that sort platform for team fishing until he gets a little older. He said it was some of the most fun he's ever had fishing. We were mostly just trolling using our fly rods.

So trout are still being caught with the lower salinity? The water has to be dirty, right?
