For whatever reason, the LaSalle Parish School Board allows free use of their lands. I think Avoyelles used to, but recently started some kind of permit situation which anyone can buy for $200 for certain parcels.

Better be some damn good hunting land.

No way would I pay $200 to hunt school board property unless there were a limited number of permits for each tract.

Now there's a screw ball way of managing land.

Remember the case of a guy cutting down trees to block access? I think these lands are very close to that.

In 2015 a group offered just under $300,000 for the rights to all their section 16 property.

Well I use to hunt Jackson/Bienville, now it’s leased to private parties. I can’t afford leases, I no longer have that option to hunt there. Frick Weyerhaeuser

ETA: Yes I realize it’s their land and they can do what they want. Just like Walmart doesn’t have to ever have enough cashiers. At the same time, frick both of them.
