OB, I’ve got time off and am thinking about taking the Yak up to Toledo for a few days. It’ll just be me, so I was considering just bringing the tent and camping out. Most of the cabins I’ve been able to find are nice but way overkill for one person. Anyone have experience with this, and if so where should i stay?

Its been a few years but I have tent camped at South Toledo Bend State Park and it was really nice with good facilities.

San Maguel State park is a good spot also. They also have a camp ground next to cypress bend.

Great idea. Weather is perfect for tent camping and bass and perch are shallow.

We were just there at the State Park in January. Some of the RV slips have private docks, and definitely space where you can put a tent with ease. I'd go for one of those if kayaking is your goal. Plus side, the rv slots have power hookups for creature comforts. The state park really is amazing.

I recommend the state parks, either North or South Toledo. They are great.
