Does anybody know when the hardheads are going to start running by the pumping stations on lake P?

Fun catching; not much fun eating.

troll something shiny, with 6' leader; or free line semi-injured live bait. I used to use white trot with air bladder punctured.

i really have never understood the appeal of catching king mackerel.

they taste like shite.
they fight like shite, except a couple of decent runs.
too much good stuff at the rigs to worry about some trash fish like kings.

1) They make phenomenal cut bait
2) When fishing a rodeo, you can win money by catching them

That's the appeal.

I have eaten KM 2 times...once on a boat right after it was caught grilled on a BGE and I thought it was pretty good...and once a friend smoked some on a primo and made a dip that was awesome!
