So I wanna go ahead and put my vacation down. I’m hunting with a firearm. And I live in North West La.

Should I make some mid week hunts close to thanksgiving? I honestly don’t remember when we had our rut this past fall. I normally just go around the holidays. I didn’t have much luck this past year.

Remember, you want to take off and hunt the couple weeks leading up to breeding, not during peak breeding times.

Agreed that its generally it's more productive during pre-rut, but NWLA's peak breeding timeline spans over a month, without knowing where he's at specifically, no one can possibly give any advice on when you should be there

If your on Facebook go to Louisiana deer hunters page and see when you see the most posts of bucks seen/killed in your area and take off around that time if you can.

I hunt in Caddo and Lincoln Parishes and we see lots of bucks the week of Thanksgiving. I would take off that week or the week after.
