Any of y'all deal with this? My truck is out of warranty but I'm wondering if they will still replace them with the 4 pack. I should be able to haul more than 10 crawfish sacks without hitting my bump stops. Planning on calling Monday.

I replaced my entire leaf pack with boss heavy duty springs. I've never bottomed out since even after towing my 22ft bay boat. It does raise it 2 inches as well and will run you about 600 dollars but by far the best upgrade I could have wanted in terms of payload. Replaced all my shocks with bilstein 5100 and raised the front 1 3/4 inches. Truck rides amazingly well

I actually had a leaf spring crack in half. Half of it fell off in the woods and I just pulled the other half out. That was really odd.

Have you checked on Tacomaworld.com? Lots of info there.
I had a '96 4 Runner and replaced the rear springs with ole man emu.

I have. Can't seem to get a straight answer on any of the sites.

I've looked at getting a new pack but that's 4-600 bucks. Toyota should be paying the bill IMO

I'm also going to level the front with 5100s or OME springs once I get the rear figured out.

Yeah the ome rear leaf springs are good too but I just don't have first hand experience with them. The Toyota tsb fix is ok but it just doesn't compare to those. I know I really love mine and I promise if you can somehow swing it the heavy duty leaf packages are entirely worth it. The reason I really like mine is it's like ten leafs stacked so they are thinner individually but together they are much stiffer and their force works progressively across the ten leafs instead of four. So unloaded I found the ride to be very similar to factory but loaded it was night and day

If you go on the thread "tacoma Spring refurbishing" they have a guy on their that has replaced the two bottom, 3rd and overload spring, with ford/chevy springs from 150/1500s or 250/2500s.

This is what I did. I went to pull-a-part in Laffy and pulled two of the lower springs off of an 80-something F150 and cut a little off the edges to fit my tacoma leaf pack. Since then my ride is a little bit better, got rid of the bro lean after leveling the front with 5100s and I've loaded couple hundred pounds of dirt in the bed without it even sagging a bit.

Tacoma put one TSB out a long time ago because the 3 pack springs in the 2nd gen were a hot pile of garbage and had instances of complete sag within a year of production. If you brought it in you could get the 4 pack TSB for whatever costs.

Now they last time I looked into it, Toyota was supposedly working on another TSB because the 4 packs were literally snapping in half and sometimes would puncture the fuel tank.

Had mine replaced at Price Leblanc. I have an 09 DC 4X. They replaced them with the standard 4 pack and look real nice. I haven't had any issues with them (before and after).

I'm assuming you all needed longer shocks as well?

It depends don't always need new shocks depending on how high you go. I replaced mine though because I figured while I had everything pulled apart I would do it. Plus my shocks had 100k on them

If you are out of the warranty period then you aren't eligible for the TSB. Have you checked to see if you are part of the recall?
