Is shark fishing at night illegal from the beach in Orange Beach?

That’s the million dollar question Tigershark. We fish sharks at night on the beach at Gulf Shores every summer and never thought about it til last year. Some dude on the beach told us it was illegal if we “chum” for the sharks?? Well, we don’t, but who the hell knows. I googled the issue after running into this weirdo on the beach, but nobody in any of the internet discussions really knows the answer. We’ll keep doing it until somebody tells us to stop.

The kids used light tackle and crappie jigs topped with a peice of shrimp to catch these bream sized shad looking fish
Probably Pin Fish
These smaller ones make pretty good bait for reds, i'm told

ETA to the OP, the are at the outlet of the pass and right inside it is loaded with pinfish, particularly along the wall.

That’s them. Ultra light tackle. Kids couldn’t get enough. Also what looked like little mangroves.

I know here in Walton County the June grass is already getting pretty hairy
It's been windy as hell all Spring, too
I'd definitely bring a rig on your trip but the grass and surf conditions can almost cause the fishing to not even be fun
Hope you are clear and glassy
