Purchased my first suppressor this evening. They advised me to purchase the single shot trust when I purchased the suppressor because they say it will be easier to add people now rather than later. I took them at their word and purchased it on the Silencer Co website. I received an email confirming I purchased the single shot trust but that’s it. I assume I will get something in the coming days with an explanation on how to complete the process?

Yeah it’ll take a day or two for all things to process they need to get the suppressors SN first. ATF won’t get your paperwork until about 2 weeks from now

Is there a kiosk close to you? You will need finger prints for everyone that you will have on the trust.

I bought the same and then added my bride to the trust. It was just getting a notary to stamp a form and then she was good to go.

How long after you purchased it did you get the paperwork and instructions on how to complete the process.

Paperwork comes with the NFA approval

Let me outline what I did;

1) Bought the One Shot Trust
2) Filled out the add on form that the ATF sent back for add on
3) Took this form to a notary and they stamped it for us
4) Scanned the trust from the ATF and the add on form into one PDF document
5) Saved this document into her phone and my phone to be legal

Guy at work told me about Single Shot trusts as an option to easily add people - almost as if it couldn't be done with the "regular" gun trust. But if expecting to buy multiple suppressors (haven't heard anyone stop at 1), do most people still use the single shot?

imagine having/paying for a Single Shot Trust per NFA item ($25 each time) that you own vs a normal gun trust that can house all of your NFA items.

you can add RPs to a normal gun trust via a trust amendment and getting it notarized. you take them off the same way.
