Suppressor mounting/direct threading question?

I received my Omega 300 last month. Will swap it out between 308 bolt gun, 6.5CM bolt gun, and 300 BLK AR It direct threads on all three. Any reasons why is should use adapters and not just direct thread it to each rifle when I want to use it? Thanks for the responses

Are you asking if you should buy “special adapters” instead of just direct thread?
Example: Dead Air sells a Keymo adapter to “quickly” swap out cans between rifles, but each rifle has to have a special muzzle brake for that to happen.
I have a .30 caliber can that I just direct thread to each rifle I use it on. It is suggested you check your zero each time you move it from gun to gun.

Yes. Asking if I should buy adapters for each gun instead of just direct threading it on each gun when I need to use that particular gun

If you have multiple rifles you shoot regularly and you want to spend the extra $$$, it’s probably easier going between them with the adapters.
If you just have a couple of rifles for hunting, I would stick with direct thread.

Some people trust some of the locking mechanisms of the quick detach over the direct thread. Especialy in high rate of fire where you’re not possibly checking the suppressor tightening as often.
Some of it is just ar Platforms typically having muzzle devices , other parts are so that I don’t have to keep up with thread protectors.
Imo I would trash the silencerco mount and go another route. I have Q stuff and like the weight savings from swapping to a planB mount and cherrybomb

No. Direct thread is super repeatable, cheaper, and lighter. You also have less tolerance stacking. Only reason to use QD is if the mount itself influences the performance characteristics of the silencer. QD is a waste of money, length, and weight for most uses.

I'll take a sacrificial muzzle brake or HUB mount with taper any day over direct thread. Muzzle diameter differences where the shoulders don't line up, can loosening while firing, and ability to swap between rifles easier/quicker. I use keymo for my Omega, YHM's system on my AR's, and will be swapping over to HUB once my TBAC is approved. Only thing I direct thread anymore is 9mm cans. Also if you purchase different brand cans in the future something like a HUB or Area 419 system you can swap between different brand cans with the same mounts on the gun. Something like a taper lock offers extremely reliable lock-up as well as repeatability.

To me the only reason to use adapter if you have a variety of different muzzle threads. Like you went back and forth between brakes and suppressors on guns that have 1/2”, 9/16”, and 5/8” threads, you could get hellfire adapters and it won’t require thought when switching all those. If your suppressor is 5/8, all the hosts are 5/8, and that’s your only muzzle device, there’s no advantage and you are potentially introducing more run out with the tolerance stacking chat mentioned.

Direct thread with taper is great. Cans dont loosen when firing if you torque them with a wrench for direct thread or if you hand tighten with a taper direct thread. I agree, Hub is great but I use direct thread hub mounts as well. It is simply the best solution for the majority of shooters unless, like I said, the mount changes performance characteristics.
