Same here, but I would want to live near a smaller community than I do now if the economy crumbled for any reason.

Tiger, maybe it wont be used, but basic shared knowledge is free. Something one day will happen, might not occur until ur kids grow up.

Remember the 3/4 rule.
U can only go 3 to 4 min without air.
3/4 hours for shelter???
3/4 days for water
3/4 weeks for food.

I'm in a medium-sized town, so I think it will be safe to stay put for at least a while after TEOTWAKI. Once it's obvious the S is hitting the F, I'll convert all of my cash into tools, supplies and provisions. At this point it won't matter what, just get me tradable stuff; because cash will soon be good for fire starting and that's it.

Laying low at home, I will start carbo loading. Don't get fat, but carrying an extra 10 lbs of fat reserves or so out the front door when I shag town is a good idea.

My intention is to stay at home as long as possible. I can achieve this by drawing absolutely no attention to myself. My neighbors know I own guns and take my survival seriously, but that's it. No generator running all day, no lights on at night.

This will be one of many things missed if the SHTF

I'm thinking any where North of Busy Corner road all the way through to 98 will be very secluded. Catch 33 to 61 then fall off into the river bottom and a fellow could get "lost" easily with plenty of water and food resources
