Boat building has become a lost art.

Building a skiff, My biggest was a 32' that was built out of cypress when I was 17 years old. It was a Harry Clann lake skiff. One hell of a battle ship when it came to running a choppy lake. The guy that invented them lived on West End/Buck Town in New Orleans way back in the 1960's. Now it is now almost impossible to find good cypress to build a big skiff. Glass is way cheaper too!

Remember him using nothing but hand tools and hot water to form the planks.

Looking good!!!!! Thanks for spending your own time building this for the auction.... Judging by the interest in this thread and the auction thread it will be one of the most sought after items.

Got some more work done today. A lot of planning. And yes, that kick my arse. Plane a little, sit down to catch my breath. Something in the past would of took an hour, took me the better part of the day. God, heart failure sucks the big one.
I did a hunt first this morning. Bagged a 125lb pig. Gave it away.
I will get some pictures up shortly.

That thing is looking fine fish! I don't think I'll have enough coin to bring that home.

I've seen better days, thats for sure. Wish I could get more nutrients down. I'm gonna go to the doc Monday and make an appt to have a PEG tube put in so I can get plenty of nutrients and water.

You hang in there. The family is praying for you. Maybe one of the heads around here can give some smoke to you that might help settle you down somewhat.

I'm way ahead of that fellas, but it's the low energy that's given me trouble. I'm not having any nausea issues due to the chemo.

God, I sure know that feeling. Really blows the big one. Your mine says "I can do that", but the body just says hell no.

Josey, just take it easy and listen to your body. If you have to lay down, do so. I go thru that every time I put on 3-4 lbs of fluid weight over night. Kicks my arse big time. Let your body rest to repair itself.
You have a good night. I pushed myself hard today. Had to hit the pills. It's night night time.

This has inspired me to build my own. Spent half the night looking up plans and getting an exact idea of what I want.
Construction starts Wednesday.
