the last limbchicken i shot was with my trusty remington .22 speedmaster firing shorts.
12 ga. = #6 high brass

When using high brass, we've not had problems w/ squirrels running off, as long as they've been hit well. OTOH, I know that high brass does a LOT more damage on a nest than does low brass. We try to avoid it, but sometimes it's necessary to destroy a nest if a wounded squirrel has escaped to the nest.
