Spinoff of my Dixey Bar post yesterday: Question About Fowl River

In the research I did yesterday evening, seems like finding a place on the Fowl River not far from where it spills into Mobile Bay would be a pretty good location to live to have good fishing not too far away, without having to worry too much about hurricane damage. Is the Fowl River itself a good place to fish?

Consider the Dog River which is a little further north as well.

My future son-in-law fishes the Dog River a lot and catches the fire out of redfish there. Doesn’t seem very hard for his buddy and him to bring 6 redfish home most every time they go. This is from yesterday evening:

Going to camp in Fowl at mouth this weekend let you know. Camp is on high ground and survived every hurricane since 50s

I have a buddy whose parents live on fowl river. We go down once a year to fish with them, we've crushed them every time.
