got into a web earlier today and got bit by a small black spider. I slapped it off my arm before i could tell what it was. I dont think it was either a widow or a recluse, but are there any others i should be concerned about?

bite is red and feels like there is fever in it. a little sore to the touch

if no vomiting not a black widow

if the bite hurt and it was a black spider not a recluse.

otherwise, you should be fine just clean with soap and water.

I am pretty sure I got bit by a black widow a few years ago at night. The next day I was having hot flashes and cold sweats in the midst of my 106 fever. Had basically an allergic reaction for maybe 20hrs. I was all red everywhere and had a tough time breathing. Just all around hurt bad and was dry-heaving because of it

After a pack of Benadryl, damn near a whole bottle of Motrin, and half a bottle of Tylenol, I was good to go

If it was something bad, you would be able to tell in 12hrs

I have no idea if this actually worked for me, but I got bit by a spider (not sure what it was) last year. I put some baking soda + water paste over it to theoretically draw out the toxins. Not sure if it was a weak, punk-arse spider...or if that science actually worked.

ETA: My symptoms were like yours, but it was a swollen also.

If non venomous the biggest danger would be infection/staff. Be sure that clean it thoroughly. I've been bit twice and it was not fun. I have the photos on my photo bucket account that I will post later. My Dr. Lanced the bite and then squeezed the puss out. I did it myself to the second one. Try to find something to suck out the poison and open the bite .

Man, it's still damn sore, and still has fever in it. I've kept it clean and applied Caladryl. Redness has subsided, but sore to the touch
